Easily one of my favorite instrumental albums in recent memory. MJ Callaghan is one of those rare individuals who can tell an intimate story without spoken language. This album is cathartic, it's full of atmosphere, and more than anything it is undeniably beautiful.
Favorite track: The Guardians of the Deepness.
To reinforce what luke (above) said, few artists are able to tell such an intimate and memorable story without words. Mr. Callaghan shows an awesome ability to grip the listener with both nuance and elegance - a great balance of stillness and movement. What a beautiful journey, thank you MJ.
Blown away by this album at first listen - still incredible after all this time. The atmosphere in every track is so immersive, it's like listening to paintings of the wilderness. Outstanding debut, Marcin! fair2mindlin
I have music from a number of post-rock artists in my collection, but I find myself coming back to this masterpiece time and again. This might be the best post-rock album of all time, superior to even its predecessor. The title is spot on - listening from beginning to end whisked me away on the most vivid journey of the mind I've experienced since Jean-Michel Jarre's "Oxygène 7-13" a quarter-century ago. fair2mindlin
